VAM Student Recital Feat. The VAM Guitar Ensemble & Guests from UBC

Join us for this free event at the Vancouver Academy of Music’s Mary Olson Hall. This event features students of all levels. We hope you will enjoy a few novice performers followed by the players of the VAM Guitar Ensemble. Finishing off the evening will be guest performers from UBC’s undergrad program; Noah Ferrera-Palchinski, Gabriela Pimental and Selina Zhou.

The VAM Student Ensemble and Soloists

The VAM ensemble is a group of talented youth players from around the city who meet every other week. Their teachers include Alec Pearson, Michael Kolk and John Oliver. The group is coached by Alec Pearson and Luis Medina. The ensemble will also perform solo works. Alec Pearson’s studio of students joins the event to help fill out the evening.

Please come join the audience for this free event at 7 pm at Mary Olson Hall, Vancouver Academy of Music.

Are you interested in playing guitar with others? The VCGS Guitar Ensemble, directed by one of Canada’s finest classical guitarists Michael Kolk, is set to launch our fall session Sunday, September 8th. We meet for seven rehearsals culminating in a concert in December.

There are a limited number of spaces for new members.

Masterclass Michael Kolk and Anna Pietrzak

Following Anna and Michael’s Nov.4th performance, they will give a masterclass on Sunday, Nov. 5th at UBC School of Music starting at 1:00 PM. Michael and Anna will each teach UBC students concurrently. There is limited room for the general public to register on a first come first serve basis but everyone is invited to come at watch at no cost. Open to all ages and skill levels.
