Our friends at the Vancouver Recital Society present guitar virtuoso Miloš! The Rogue Folk Club presents Christine Tassan et les Imposteures, a celebrated gypsy jazz and swing band.

Founded in 2003 by classically trained guitarist Christine Tassan, inspired by Django Reinhardt, the band has performed over 600 shows across Quebec, Canada, Europe, the U.S., and China, becoming a standout in the gypsy jazz scene.

The VSO Guitar Ensemble invites you to a free lunch time concert on Tuesday, Dec. 10th at 1:00 pm. Enjoy a program of music from around the world with selections from Spain, Mexico, France, the Mediterranean, Japan, England and even outer space. Join us for a fun, relaxing, free concert with the 8 guitars of the incomparable VSO Guitar Ensemble on the stage of Pyatt Hall, VSO School of Music, 843 Seymour Street.

The VAM ensemble is a group of talented youth players from around the city who meet every other week. Their teachers include Alec Pearson, Michael Kolk and John Oliver. The group is coached by Alec Pearson and Luis Medina. The ensemble will also perform solo works. Alec Pearson’s studio of students joins the event to help fill out the evening.

Please come join the audience for this free event at 7 pm at Mary Olson Hall, Vancouver Academy of Music.

The Erato Ensemble presents Heritages, a concert by Luis Angel Medina. Luis is an accomplished performer and a driving force in Vancouver’s classical guitar community.  He is founder and director of the Vancouver Classical Guitar Festival and a guitar instructor at Capilano University.  Known for his deep musicality, technical mastery, and exquisite sound, Luis brings all of this to a concert featuring the works of Julio César Oliva, Dale Kavanagh, Manuel Ponce and Mauro Guiliani.

The Vancouver Recital Society presents Raphaël Feuillâtre. Raphaël was born in Djibouti, on the northeastern coast of Africa, raised in Western France and studied at the Conservatoire de Nantes and later at the Paris Conservatoire. He made his international breakthrough as the 2018 winner of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America. Since then, Raphaël’s burgeoning career has taken him around the world, where he has dazzled audiences with his playing. In 2021, he performed for the Vancouver Classic Guitar Society.

Catch the classical guitar solo recital of Denys Panchenko, a master classical guitarist from Ukraine, featuring classics and his own compositions. Denys has performed solo recitals throughout Ukraine, and he has played with many orchestras as a soloist. His original compositions have been performed in various countries and competitions.

Catch the debut recital of unique intercultural powerhouse quartet 88 Strings, featuring classics and world premieres from Spain, China, Persia, France and Canada. Come see Alec and Kosta play solos and duets at this exciting, welcoming new venue on Granville Island! Alec and Kosta just finished a string of performances together on Quadra Island (Quadra Island Chamber Music Festival) and are now excited to share their tunes with Vancouverites.
