Join us for this free event at the Vancouver Academy of Music’s Mary Olson Hall. This event features students of all levels. We hope you will enjoy a few novice performers followed by the players of the VAM Guitar Ensemble. Finishing off the evening will be guest performers from UBC’s undergrad program; Noah Ferrera-Palchinski, Gabriela Pimental and Selina Zhou.

Join us for Vancouver’s Finest, our annual celebration of Vancouver’s own exceptional classical guitarists with a concert by two driving forces in our music community, Alec Pearson and Luis Medina. Alec and Luis have done so much to support and promote classical guitar learning and performance in our community.  This concert recognizes their huge volunteer contributions and celebrates their outstanding talent.

The VAM ensemble is a group of talented youth players from around the city who meet every other week. Their teachers include Alec Pearson, Michael Kolk and John Oliver. The group is coached by Alec Pearson and Luis Medina. The ensemble will also perform solo works. Alec Pearson’s studio of students joins the event to help fill out the evening.

Please come join the audience for this free event at 7 pm at Mary Olson Hall, Vancouver Academy of Music.

This course is meant to be a fun group class and will appeal to amateur players or serious students who want to refine their knowledge further. We will look at the players, the composers, and the history associated with each lesson topic. Option for people to join online.

Come see Alec and Kosta play solos and duets at this exciting, welcoming new venue on Granville Island! Alec and Kosta just finished a string of performances together on Quadra Island (Quadra Island Chamber Music Festival) and are now excited to share their tunes with Vancouverites.
