Alan Liu is an acclaimed classical guitarist known for his expressive performances and nuanced interpretations.
A recipient of numerous awards at significant international competitions, Alan's enthusiasm for classical and contemporary music has garnered him a global following.
Educated by some of the world's leading guitarists, Alan's performances combine profound emotional expression with impeccable technical skills.
As a Master of Music candidate, Alan studies with Sharon Isbin at the Juilliard School, where he receives a full-ride scholarship. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, he studied with David Starobin and Jason Vieaux. His previous teachers include Daniel Bolshoy, Jonathan Leathwood, Keiko Alexander, LayTuan Tan, Michael Partington, Ping Jin, Rene Izquierdo, and Xia Yang. Alan is the recipient of the Sylva Gelber Music Foundation Award and an alumnus of the Aspen Music Festival.
