VCGS Guitar Ensemble

The next Session is Full.

Our VCGS Guitar Ensemble is fully subscribed for our next session which begins Sunday, January 28th. Our director for this session is Itamar Erez, an acclaimed world music composer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, and teacher influenced by Middle Eastern music, jazz, flamenco, and more - Composer And Musician | Itamar Erez Music. If you’re interested in joining the ensemble in the future, please fill out the form below and you will be put on a waiting list.

The ensemble is open to adults of all skill levels interested in playing classical guitar with others. Participants must be VCGS members and have the ability to read music. A modest fee of $145 is charged to help cover VCGS expenses in organizing the ensemble. Rehearsals will take place at:


Kokoro Dance/ KW Studios
236 - 111 Hastings St W, Vancouver, BC, V6B 1H4
with the concert taking place at the Vancouver Academy of Music

The dates of the rehearsals are below. You also need to commit to learning and practicing the ensemble music on your own.

 

Rehearsal Schedule & Location

Rehearsals will happen bi-weekly on Sundays from 10:45 - 12:15.

Please arrive at 10:30 to tune-up and get settled.

You’ll need to bring your own music stand as the venue no longer provides them.

  • The concert will take place at the Vancouver Academy of Music - Mary Olson Hall. 12:30 (Doors open at 12:00) noon)..

    Participants also have the option to perform solo pieces or smaller ensembles.
